Privacy Policy

What this journal collects, why, and how you stay in control.

1. Who I Am

This website, Real Trading Journal (realtradingjournal.com), is a personal trading journal run by Petr, a private individual based in the Czech Republic. I am the controller of the personal data described below. Contact: contact@realtradingjournal.com.

2. The Short Version

  • You can read the whole journal without any cookies.
  • Google Analytics and TradingView widgets load only after you agree in the cookie banner. You can change your choice anytime via .
  • If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is handled by my newsletter provider, Brevo, and you can unsubscribe with one click.
  • I do not sell personal data and I do not use it for advertising.

When you visit the site, the web server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system (user agent) and the referring page. I use these logs only to keep the site secure and running and to fix errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept only for as long as needed for these purposes and then deleted. The server is hosted by Contabo GmbH (Germany), which processes this data on my behalf.

Your consent choice is stored in your browser (localStorage, not a cookie) so the banner does not appear on every page. Other cookies are set only after your consent:

  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*), stored for up to 2 years.
  • External content — TradingView may set its own cookies when its charts, exchange rates or economic calendar are loaded. See the TradingView Privacy Policy.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via (also in the footer of every page). Withdrawal does not affect processing that happened before it.

With your consent I use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to understand which pages are read and how visitors find the site. Google processes pseudonymous identifiers, pages viewed, device and browser information and approximate location; Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

The Markets and Tools pages can show live charts, exchange rates and an economic calendar provided by TradingView, Inc. These widgets are loaded only after you allow external content. Once loaded, your browser connects to TradingView, which receives your IP address and may set cookies. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Some pages load the open-source Chart.js library from the jsDelivr content delivery network. To deliver the file, the CDN receives your IP address and browser information; no cookies are set. Legal basis: legitimate interest in a fast, reliable site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you subscribe, your email address is processed by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 17 rue Salneuve, 75017 Paris, France) on my behalf to send you updates from the journal. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Every email contains an unsubscribe link; after you unsubscribe, your address is no longer used for mailing. See the Brevo Privacy Policy.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email contact@realtradingjournal.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ), or the authority in your own country.

10. Changes to This Policy

I will update this policy when the website or the services it uses change. The current version is always published on this page.
