What happened
This week I closed one trade: a GBP/AUD buy on the D1 chart. I opened it on Oct 14, 2026 at 1.89317 and closed it on Oct 15 at 1.91598. The result was +228 pips, or 2.49R. I entered on a deeper pullback than on my previous trade, so this was a repeat of the same setup.
My initial stop loss (SL) was at 1.884, and I later moved it to 1.8885. My take profit (TP) was at 1.919.
What went well
The trade moved against me by at most 41.5 pips, and at its best it was 229.8 pips in profit. I closed at 228 pips, so I kept almost the entire move.
I closed manually about 30 pips short of my TP. Economic news releases for GBP were due in the afternoon. Price was only a short distance from the TP, and based on the weaker data I expected the news could weaken GBP slightly. I preferred to lock in the profit. I rate the trade very positively.
What I want to improve
For manual exits, I will keep writing down the specific reason. This time it was clear: the GBP news and the short distance to the TP.
