What happened
Week 44 (Oct 26 – Oct 30, 2026) had a single trade: a manual GBP/USD buy on the H4 chart. I opened it on Oct 29, 2026 at 13:34 UTC at 1.33286. After the breakout above 1.3300, price pulled back into the 38%-61% fib zone of the previous move, and I expected it to reach somewhere around 1.3500. My stop loss (SL) was at 1.33087 and my take profit (TP) at 1.33487. The trade closed at 14:44 UTC, 70 minutes later, at 1.33488 for +20 pips, or 1.02 R.
What went well
- The entry followed a clear plan with a defined zone and a predefined SL.
- Price went against me by at most 12.4 pips, so the SL was never under real threat. The best point of the trade was 21 pips in profit.
- The trade played out exactly as planned.
I added no tags and no post-trade review for this trade, so I can't say more about how it unfolded.
What I want to improve
I made a big mistake: I forgot to move the TP to my intended level around 1.3500, so it stayed at the default 20 pips. The trade closed mechanically rather than by my decision. In my view, the profit could have been much larger.
Right after opening a trade, I want to check that the TP matches the plan instead of relying on the default.
